Vic Kids facility has 6 unique classrooms that are inspired after some of our beloved traditional Indigenous animals.

  • Otter

Otter is described by our Indigenous People as representing family, kindness, peace and friendship. All of these are what we build alongside each of our families and their children while in our care. Our Otter Room is our youngest age group.

  • Orcas

Orcas are one of the most important figures in aboriginal culture. They’re featured prominently in works of art as a protector of the people, a symbol of power that inspires humanity to live well, live strong and take care of eachother. Our Orca room is our second infant group. As our infants start to grow and become more independent, we begin to teach them how to care for one another in the program.

  • Bear

Bear represents strength, family, vitality, courage and health. The bear is thoughtful and independent, with little need for fellowship. The bear is also self-contained and strong-willed in nature. Strong-willed couldn’t be more perfect to describe our infants growing into toddlers. While they come into their own person, our Bear room is all about the toddlers learning and our educators guiding them to develop more independence.

  • Eagles

Eagles have separate and significant meanings, the Eagle as a whole signifies focus, strength, peace, leadership, and ultimate prestige. The wings of an eagle symbolize the balance and codependency and how each person must work together in order to achieve harmonious results. As our older tots start to move towards preschool age, they start to recognize how to work with each other even though some might not have the capabilities to verbalize just yet. It’s our job to help them navigate through this stage of growth.

  • Beaver

Beaver helps people understand the dynamics of teamwork and to appreciate each individual’s talents and contributions in order to accomplish anything. Beaver is a builder of the mind, body, and soul and symbolizes creativity, creation, cooperation, persistence and harmony. Our preschoolers are best represented by the traditional beaver.
